( 2 of 2 ) Posted by Nicky i hope you mean the name and not the character... its funny because it IS! the ford prefect was a car at the time it was written - do a search on the web if you wish to see one, or failing that i believe one of the tribute sites has a picture on it. when doing his research to come to earth ford got the idea that ford prefect was an inconspicuous name for a human, when in actual fact it was an inconspicuous name for a car. there was discussion about a year ago that the name should be "updated" for the movie so that people understand it more easily. i say pants to that. <Prev
