Subject: The 6 Degrees of Douglas Adams ( 1 of 20 )

I have recently become obsessed with the "6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game which my Hitchhiker-obsessed ex-English teacher, Mr. Baize, first introduced me to. The game (for those of you who have never heard of it) goes something like this. You take a random person whos been in one or more movies/television programs and use other actors to connect them to Kevin Bacon. Here's an example:

Douglas Adams was in "Doctor Who: Thirty Years in the Tardis"(TV) with John Cleese.
John Cleese was in "The Big Picture" with Kevin Bacon.

Now, you may ask yourself, why have I posted this here since this game has to do with Kevin Bacon and not DNA.
Well, for one thing, this game has some similarities with Dirk Gently's belief in the interconnectedness of all things. Secondly, I believe that you can connect ANY person whos been in one or more movies/TV programs and use other actors to connect them to ANY OTHER person...etc.
This includes Douglas Adams!

Let me give a couple of examples:

Arnold Schwarzenegger was in "Last Action Hero" with Anthony Quinn.
Mr. Quinn was in "This Can't Be Love"(TV) with Bob Metcalfe.
Mr. Metcalfe was in "Triumph of the Nerds: The Rise of Accidental Empires"(mini) with Douglas Adams.

Elvis Presley was in "Viva Las Vegas" with Jack Carter.
Mr. Carter was in "The Hustler of Muscle Beach"(TV) with Claude Stern.
Mr. Stern was in "Triumph of the Nerds: The Rise of Accidental Empires"(mini) with Douglas Adams.

See! Now if anyone wants to see if I can connect anyone else with Douglas Adams (or someone else), I'll be happy to!

By the way, if anyone wants to know what DNA has appeared in, all you have to do is look him up on www.imdb.com.
