It's much more difficult to remount a production than it is to make it from scratch because when you start from scratch you hire actors according to their availability, whereas when you remount you have to assemble the same cast again. So it was abandoned. Shada wasn't that great, in fact. It was a natural four parter that got stretched to six parts. Pirate Planet - my first Who story - was, on the other hand, a natural six parter which got hacked down to four. City of Death was a rescue job. The commissioned writer had fallen sick and I had to take over and write the whole thing over again from scratch - in just a weekend. I thought it was pretty good considering... <Prev Next>
