The Prince of Egypt isn't a Spielberg film in the traditional sense. It was made by his studio, but I gather the largest role he would have had was as Excutive Producer. Hehe, past their prime, I dont' know. It's hard to say that about Newman because he's hardly past his prime in composing film scores, having two of them nominated for Oscars this year. Gabriel could well come up with something that would suddenly make him seem not past prime at all.
